Married for 50 years, David (Lee Strasberg) and Becky (Ruth Gordon) have lived in Coney Island for most of their life together. But the area is not what it used to be, and their children ask them to move. David states, “I left one country, I’m not about to leave another.” But Becky becomes ill and David’s cafeteria and synagogue are vandalized by thugs. David must make his final stance.

In 1942, during the second world war, rubber is a valuable commodity. Eddie Delaney is a second lieutenant in the army, but also a private detective. Eddy swings into action, when his father, police-sergeant Timothy J. Delaney, is gunned down by rubber racketeers.

When a diamond is stolen in Hong Kong, the company insuring the diamond sends a former CIA agent to Hong Kong to retrieve it. Meanwhile, one of the thieves begins to have a change of heart because his girlfriend wants him to leave his criminal organization.
